And when I finally see her leave the house, a chill through my back, a strange tingling never felt before. She stops in the doorway, and I watch her as she seems to look directly at where I am sitting. I freeze, although I have no reason, I know it is impossible for her to see me. From my position, I watched Savannah, quietly shut the door behind her. She slowly down the steps and goes to the center of the esplanade. She stops there and she crosses her arms, looking over her shoulder to make sure no one has followed her. Finally seem to relax. And then I feel as if I'm witnessing a miracle, as ever so slowly she raises her face towards the moon. I watch her drink in the sight, sensing the flood of memories she's unleashed and wanting nothing more than to let her know I'm here. But instead I stay where I am and stare up at the moon as well. And for the briefest instant, it almost feels like we're together again.
She's emo? You’d cut too, if you’ve been through what she has.
She’s anorexic? You’d be too, if everyone called you fat everyday.
She’s a whore? She made one mistake that cost her reputation.
She’s loud? She’s invisible at home, and she wants to be heard.
She’s quiet? She’s afraid to speak, because she’s scared to say the wrong things.
She’s a geek? She wants to get into college, so she can support her future family.
She’s ugly? Tell me, what is the definition of beauty?
Who are you to judge them?
You know their name, not their story.

It seems only the old are able to sit next to one another and not say anything and still feel content. The young, brash and impatient, must always break the silence. It is a waste, for silence is pure. Silence is holy. It draws people together, because only those who are comfortable with each other can sit without speaking.
Always be yourself. Never try to hide who you are. The only shame is to have shame. Always stand up for what you believe in. Always question what others people tell you. Never regret the past, it's a waste of time. There's a reason for everything. Every mistake, every moment of weakness, every terrible thing that has happened to you. Grow from it. The only way you can ever get the respect of others is when you show them that you respect yourself and most importantly, never apologize for being you.
